Head, Neck and Shoulder Massage, Shaikpet

Head massage

A head massage works over the scalp, the temples and the base of the skull with circling fingertip pressure and slow kneading. Tell your therapist whether you are happy to have oil in your hair. Half an hour is enough to feel noticeably calmer, which is why plenty of guests book it on its own.

Neck and shoulder massage

This 30 minute treatment concentrates on the muscles that pull your shoulders up towards your ears on a busy day: the neck, the tops of the shoulders and the upper back between the shoulder blades. The pressure can be firm or gentle, as you prefer.

Booking both, or more

Book the two back to back for an hour spent on the top half of the body. If the stiffness spreads into your lower back, a deep tissue massage covers more ground; for a short visit that also takes care of the feet, add a foot massage.

Questions about this treatment

How long is a head massage?

30 minutes. The neck and shoulder massage is also 30 minutes, and you can book the two together.

Will oil go in my hair?

Ask before the head massage starts, and tell your therapist if you would rather keep oil out of your hair.

Can a neck and shoulder massage help after long hours at a laptop?

Many people with desk jobs find it eases the stiffness of a long week. It is a relaxation treatment, though, so see a doctor or physiotherapist about pain that does not go away.
